Francis Staub attended the national committee of the French Coral Reef Initiative

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]In June 2019, Francis Staub co-organized and attended the national committee of the French coral reef initiative (Ifrecor) in Saint Martin, French Caribbean. The national committee was preceded by a one-day technical workshop on the impacts of Irma, a category 5 hurricane that struck in 2017. About 40 participants from all 3 oceans attended the committee where theme leaders of the national action programme and the local committees were able to take stock of the progress of their work. Topics discussed included the finalisation of the decree, the preparation of the coral reef health assessment and associated ecosystems, the preparation of the 20-year anniversary of the Initiative, and the development of the 5th five-year action plan (2021-2025).
