In December 2021, Blue Pangolin Consulting signed a new contract to provide technical assistance to The MedFund.
The MedFund is a hybrid environmental fund which aims to mobilise public and private actors in order to promote the development and effectiveness of Mediterranean MPAs.
For the next six months (between January and June 2022), Blue Pangolin Consulting will provide technical support on fund allocation to MPAs, and assistance for open calls for expression of interest for MPAs in the Mediterranean.
The four main objectives of this consultancy are:
- To support current funding recipients of the 8 MPAs that have benefitted from the MedFund
- To guide applicants for the next round of call for expression of interest of MPAs as part of the Highly Protected Marine Initiative (HPMI) themed call
- To launch a call for expression of interest for MPAs as part of Monaco Ocean Week
- To help with the preparation of the March 2022 Board meeting
This work is very complimentary with our recent project with the MAVA Foundation and the MedFund, where Blue Pangolin Consulting completed a feasibility study for the establishment of the Mediterranean Fund dedicated to No-Take Zones, resulting in the launch of a new initiative called the Highly Protected Mediterranean Initiative (HPMI).
